【摘要】:ReflectssubstantiverevisionsbasedontheinitialCanvassreview.Whiletherevisionsareconsideredsubstantive,theydonotalterthebasicscopeandintentofthestandard.ThisstandardincludesGELPPsrelatedtogeneralsiteconditionsatanimalfeedingoperations(AFO).Thestandardwasdevelopedtoaddressenvironmentalchallengesfacingthelivestockindustry.Thisstandardincludesrequirementsthatarebasedonbestmanagementpracticesdevelopedbyindustry,governmental,anduniversityexperts.Operationsthatadheretothisstandardwillreducetheriskofadverseenvironmentalandodorincidentsresultingfromtheiractivities.Thestandardappliestoalltypesofconcentratedlivestockoperationsincluding,butnotlimitedtohogs,beefcattle,dairy,meatbirds,andegglayers.Thisstandardisapplicabletoanylivestockoperationthatplansto:1)minimizeitspotentialtogeneratenegativeenvironmentalimpacts;2)demonstrategoodenvironmentalstewardship;and3)improverelationshipswithallpartiesdirectlyorindirectlyaffectedbytheoperation.Thisstandardwaslistedforpublicreviewinthe7/13/2001issueofStandardsAction.Itisbeingresubmittedduetosubstantivechangestothetext.
