【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedfordeterminationofthecarboncontentofwaterfromavarietyofnatural,domestic,andindustrialsources.Initsmostcommonform,thistestmethodisusedtomeasureorganiccarbonasameansofmonitoringorganicpollutantsinindustrialwastewater.Thesemeasurementsarealsousedinmonitoringwastetreatmentprocesses.TherelationshipofTOCtootherwaterqualityparameterssuchaschemicaloxygendemand(COD)andtotaloxygendemand(TOD)isdescribedintheliterature.41.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftotalcarbon(TC),inorganiccarbon(IC),andtotalorganiccarbon(TOC)inwater,wastewater,andseawaterintherangefrom0.1mg/Lto4000mg/Lofcarbon.1.2Thistestmethodwasusedsuccessfullywithreagentwaterspikedwithsodiumcarbonate,aceticacid,andpyridine.Itistheuser''sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodforwatersofuntestedmatrices.1.3Thistestmethodisapplicableonlytocarbonaceousmatterinthesamplethatcanbeintroducedintothereactionzone.Thesyringeneedleorinjectoropeningsizegenerallylimitthemaximumsizeofparticlesthatcanbesointroduced.1.4Inadditiontolaboratoryanalyses,thistestmethodmaybeappliedtostreammonitoring.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
